It is an event held on the need for recurrent education and the changing labor market conditions, call for flexible access to TVET. Continuing education models that will meet workers’ lifelong learning needs have to be relevant and flexible to provide just-in-time learning without any barriers of time and distance. ICTs can play a crucial role in removing distance from education and in developing a lifelong learning culture in TVET. Consequently, ICT and TVET are needed to be integrated at all levels. Technology is evolving the way people learn and the way they work. The Government of India initiated steps to make learning easy with the development of content for e-learning to benefit students that aimed at improving the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER).

Features of the webinar

The objective features of webinars is The E-learning industry in India is a prolific one, witnessing a steady growth rate of 25 per cent year-on-year and is projected to be a $1.96 billion industry by 2021. With a network of more than 1.5 million schools and 18,000 higher education institutes, the market for digital education in India is enormous. Skill development practitioners and academicians recognize information communication and technology (ICT) as a critical component in addressing issues of inclusivity, quality, and standardized skill development. Discussion of ICT-integrated TVET primarily takes place in the context of formal training; however, a significant portion of skill development in India takes place along the lifelong learning continuum, outside of the formal context. This chapter, therefore, takes a wider perspective to review how ICT is reforming TVET delivery practices in India across formal, nonformal, and open and distance learning settings.
